100-yen stores are constantly evolving. Every time I visit a 100-yen shop, I’m surprised to see new ideas and products. I frequently feel that “I bought something similar to this at a high price at another store,” or “I see… this would certainly be useful”. On the other hand, there are also things that I felt were failures.
Don’t you have a lot of similar experiences like this?
However, it would be boring to just use what is sold as-is, and there are probably some things that seem useful but you just don’t know where to use them.
So here are some pictures of how to use them to give you a hint!
Chrome Plated Poles
Chrome-plated poles are parts that you can buy as shown in the pictures below to build shelves and other structures of your desired size. The poles and shelves come in a variety of sizes, and can be assembled without hammering in nails.
Usually, if you try to buy them at a DIY store, they are quite expensive. You have to buy at least four poles, two shelves and stoppers, etc. The payment instantly exceeds over 3000 yen. On the other hand, the 100 yen store’s products are small and all 100 yen, so you can buy them more easily and use them in various places.
For example, as a side table for a sofa.
Four 25cm poles, one 15cm x 30cm shelf, and a pair of stoppers total 600 yen (tax not included).
You can make it look better by simply cutting and placing your favorite luncheon mat on it.
It’s small enough to stand on its own with one shelf. If you want to extend the legs, you will need one more shelf to make it more stable. Wheels can also be attached if necessary.
You can place it next to a microwave oven and use the height to place small items, or use it as a small bookshelf in your bedroom…
Cutting Board Stand
Next is a stainless steel cutting board stand. I didn’t need that much “stand”, so I used it as a vegetable slicer stand in a drawer.
What do you think? Please let me know if you have any ideas on 100yen goods.
