Make Your Days Comfortable and Happy with Labels!

Labeling is the Shortest Way for Your Comfortable Life

“Oh, I can’t read such a small letters!” That happens all the time when you get old.

You cannot tell which is the spice you want use while you are cooking. They look same. Even you try to read the labels on the bin, the letters are decorated which makes more difficult for you to read.

Conditioning after shampoo. Wait, is this really conditioner? Isn’t it a body soap? I cannot tell which is which. The bottles look same.

Maybe they want to give you components, but what I want to know is which is shampoo and which is conditioner.

Haven’t you ever experienced all these scenes?

If yes, then why don’t you make your own labels? They will bring you more comfortable life for sure!

4 Good Points in Labeling

  1. When you need it, you can tell which is which right away.
  2. To the guests, you don’t have to tell which is what.
  3. It brings out the sense of unity.
  4. You learn a technique of tidying up before you know.

When you need it, you can tell which is which right away.

If you label like this, you can tell which is which at one glance from one angle.

To the guests, you don’t have to tell which is what.

When you have visitors, you don’t have to tell which is what. For instance, long towels for drying and thin face towels are for body wash.

Again, everyone can tell which is what at a glance!

It brings out the sense of unity.

In most cases, seasonings and daily necessities are in different packages: colors and shapes. Even if you stick to your favorite ones, sometimes they are out of stock when you want to buy, so you have to buy one with different package. Or sometimes you want to buy a new product which you saw on TV commercials.

See! Now they are all different!

Why don’t you get your favorite containers and label them?

You can buy anything you want, but you can still keep them in the unified look.

You learn a technique of tidying up before you know.

When you start labeling, you might surprisingly find things are placed in the wrong place in the wrong group. For instance, you might find some seasonings on the left shelf, but others in the drawer.

By labeling, you will know which is where and begin to place them in the right group. Or you will be thinking where is the best place for that group.

And THAT is a basic technique of tidying up!

Kind of Labels

Masking Tape of Muji

My recent recommendation is a masking tape of Muji.

Two types of thickness: 30mm and 15mm. Perforated at 30mm and 10mm.

You can cut by hand at any length. The top in the photo below is one cut.

Above all, they are removable and reasonable at cost. I haven’t tried their water resistance yet though.

If you use them on a drawer, you can see the food inventory and know what you should buy more.

TEPRA of KING JIM

King of labels is TEPRA of KING JIM. No joke!

Colors, width and decoration are so various, but the only drawback is that you need a tape writer at a quite cost. But recently KING JIM released a model “lite” for mobile phones. That is less than JPY10,000.

The tape is water resistant, but sometimes a trace of label remains after peeling.

My favorite is a standard type of white 12mm. It gives me a feeling of “I did it!”

Curing Tape

If you want label NOW, curing tape is good for that. Not so cool, but the easiest and the cheapest! You can get it at DIY center around JPY200 per roll.

You can cut it by hand and removable, but not suitable for paper containers.

If you use white ones, maybe they look much better.

I used both TEPRA and curing tape (photo below), because I didn’t want remain a trace of TEPRA on the container.
