I want to vacuum but moving a heavy object is a hassle.
I don’t have the strength and I don’t have a choice, eh! I pulled it and “Oh! I knew I’d get a scratch.”
What a mess! You have such a an experience, don’t you? Well, I do.
Then, take advantage of the wheels!
Everything is a one-handed roll. Vacuuming with the right hand while moving it with the left. Shorter cleaning time. No back pain. All good things!
Let’s Use the Wheels!
Around the table and in the living room.
This is a chair for the dining room table.
Usually chair legs and table legs are all over the place when vacuuming.
But this allows you to vacuum with your right hand while moving it with left hand.
You just move the chair a little forward while you are sitting down when people pass behind you in a narrow space. It’s good for sloppy people like me. But it really helps.
Note: If the flooring is very slippery material, it can be dangerous for the elderly to use it, so I recommend that you consult with your family and watch the situation before using it.
As a side table next to the sofa.
It was really sold as a printer’s platform.
When I’m not using it, I tuck it away next to the TV and use the space in front of the sofa. It’s also easy to move with one hand.
In the Balcony…
The leaves are falling off and I have to clean them…
There’s a typhoon coming and I’ll have to move them under the eaves of the roof…
But it’s hard on my back.
Even in such a case, it can be moved easily with wheels.
But, this is for apartments with a concrete balcony. Sorry, if not.
Also, wooden ones will inevitably go bad after a few years. Metallic types are recently sold at a 100 yen shop in three sizes (round: large, small, and square, 200 yen each, tax not included), so I recommend them, too.
The trash can is also surprisingly heavy.
They all come with casters in my house. Wheels are only attached to the rear, but if you lift the front, you can move them around easily.
I also put my balcony soil and gardening supplies in it.
Other Handmade Wheel Bases
Next up is for the wine rack.
Just a board with wheels thick enough to withstand the weight of bottles.
I made it out of a board I happened to have, so please don’t expect it to look bad.
If you go to Home Depot, there are all kinds of boards out there, so take your pick!
This is what it looks like when you flip it over.
When I used to have a petroleum fan heater, I used it underneath.
But, as I’ve said many times before, please be careful to use in homes where there are small children or elderly people.
